Most companies use (Basic + DA) ÷ 26 × unused leave days, the same 26-day convention used for gratuity.

Do I have to pay my company if I don't serve the full notice period?

Yes, if your appointment letter has a notice-pay clause — the shortfall is deducted from your final settlement based on your per-day salary.

Is F&F settlement taxable?

Each component is taxed individually — gratuity follows its own exemption limit, leave encashment on resignation is generally taxable, and notice pay is taxed as salary income.
