What is a GST Tax Invoice?

A Tax Invoice is a mandatory legal document issued by a GST-registered seller to the buyer. It is required for the buyer to claim Input Tax Credit (ITC). It must include seller GSTIN, buyer GSTIN, invoice number, date, HSN/SAC codes, and a tax breakup.

What is the difference between CGST, SGST, and IGST?

When a sale happens within the same state (intrastate), GST is split equally into CGST (Central) and SGST (State). When the sale is between different states (interstate), IGST (Integrated GST) is charged at the same total rate. Is it mandatory to mention HSN or SAC codes on a GST invoice?
